The purpose of Lessons

Our children are always taught some or the other lessons in the school.
On the day of Open House in my son's school, the parents were also asked to participate in the CREATIVE  EXPRESSION genere, took as topic of interaction between the two sides of parents and the school itself.

Our children were sitting with us in the hall. And the topic was "Peace".
All the teachers asked their respective classes to make creative writing along with the parents for this topic.
Children were reminded to make use of the lessons taught to them in the syllabus regarding the topic. And to my amazement, as I did expect watching all the beautiful sharp minded children around, the following words came out as the amalgamated efforts inculcated to put together for interaction :

We children, are often told about setting goals for the examinations or the carriers. And though, these are obviously important, we need to learn early as possible that no goal is worthwhile unless it involves the goal of Peace. Peace must be explained as more than an opposite to war. It should be a state of mind, an attitude to life to promote justice and harmony. While in the daily world news, we just hear about injustice,  chaos and violence. And all this makes it very easy for today's child to become desensitised to cruelty.
We now believe that children of today need to be actively instructed on the perils of unconscious violence and the long term peaceful approach to conflicts.

All the parents and the school staff itself were moved by the writing efforts created with the students of mere 8th standard (class).

Children today think upon higher levels than we set for them.
Let us be proud of the future of tomorrow.
